Hi there, I'm Mia
I work as a project manager, am a parent, and live abroad in Toronto, Canada.
A few years ago I moved here with my family. What began as a short-term assignment gradually became a new chapter of life overseas.
How It Started
Moving to Canada wasn’t in the original plan for the long haul. Like many international transfers, it began with a work chance and quickly grew into something far more significant.
The early months were demanding — new systems, new routines, new expectations. Everyday tasks seemed tougher than they should have.
The Adjustment Period
There was cultural shock, uncertainty, and plenty of hands-on learning. Yet, gradually, routines took shape. We found places that suited us, met other families, and began building something that felt secure.
Why I Built Signal Glacier Meadow
Most information online was either corporate relocation guidance or superficial tourism content. What was missing was an honest, everyday family viewpoint.
This site exists to bridge that gap — practical advice drawn from real life in Canada.
What This Site Is (And Isn't)
This site IS:
- Practical insights from living in Canada
- Centered on family life and daily realities
- Updated whenever something truly changes
This site ISN'T:
- Not a tourism authority resource
- Not a sponsored review site
- Not a generic travel blog
Looking Ahead
Our stay in Canada goes on, and so does the process of learning. As long as the information remains helpful, I will continue recording what we find.
If you have questions about family life in Toronto or anywhere in Canada, don't hesitate to get in touch.
Best regards,
Mia
